Purpose of the Specific Program Components:

  • Provide education about the effects of alcohol and other drugs.
  • Help students to assess their personal risk for developing alcohol related and other drug problems.
  • Discuss low risk choices and ways to implement them.
  • Provide students with the support necessary to begin making low risk choices in order to avoid further legal or other alcohol and drug related problems.

Free Online Assessment for Alcohol and Marijuana Use
In addition to consultation services at the Counseling and Testing Center, Georgia State University students have the opportunity to complete a free online assessment for both alcohol and marijuana and get personalized feedback regarding one’s individual risk level. The 3rd Millennium Classrooms assessments help students understand their personal level of risk related to their use. Students who are curious about how their drinking or marijuana use compares with other college students can find out for free. Students simply complete a confidential online questionnaire and receive an individualized feedback report about their use and how it compares to others.
