Free and confidential personal counseling
Counseling Services offers confidential personal counseling to assist students with personal, developmental or psychological concerns related to their academic progress and personal growth.
Due to an unexpected medical leave by Perimeter Campus counseling staff, counseling sessions on some campuses will be temporarily unavailable this semester.
Scheduling for individual counseling will continue to be available on the Clarkston campus on Thursdays. If you are interested in scheduling a session at the Clarkston campus, please contact 404-414-1640.
Services will resume on all campuses as soon as staffing is arranged.
In the interim, if you feel that you are in need of emergency assistance, please present to the Atlanta campus Counseling Center for urgent consultation at 75 Piedmont Ave suite 200. Crisis support is also available after business hours by calling 404-413-1640 and following the prompts to speak with an on-call crisis counselor.
If interested in seeking services before Perimeter Camus services resume, please contact Shantisha Collier at 678-891-4105 to request information about community based providers that have worked well with Georgia State University students in the past.
Faculty and Staff who have concerns about a student can call the Atlanta Campus Counseling Center at 404-413-1640 and ask to speak with the Clinical Officer on Duty (COD). Please have the student name and contact information available.
Counseling Services provides individual counseling, group counseling, referrals to campus and community resources, and faculty and staff training workshops. Contact Counseling Services by calling the Counseling Access Line at 404-413-1640 during business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
