Theoretical Orientation: Dr. McCavanagh works within a multicultural counseling framework by utilizing the time-limited dynamic psychotherapy approach with an integration of narrative therapy, family systems therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Areas of Clinical Interest: Queer and trans issues, identity development, sexual trauma, depression, interpersonal issues, self-awareness and self-compassion
